Description

A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Sun and the earth and partially or fully blocks the Sun. Due to the nature of the moon’s orbit and the tilt of Earth’s axis, eclipse only occur or rare occasions. You have to be in the right region to view a total eclipse(sometimes called an annular eclipse), which only last a few minuets anyway, with the rest of the area where the eclipse is visible being a partial eclipse.

Description
Influenza, often called Flu, is an infectious disease caused by an Influenza virus. There are several version that exist, such as Bird flu or Swine flu. This particular version is called Hunters Flu. It gained its name from the fact it was first noticed among wildlife hunters in the southern forest regions. Like “normal” flu, the symptoms include fevers, coughing, nasal congestion etc. As an addition, the one suffering from it also become highly sensitive to sunlight, causing them pain. Oddly, most artificial lights do not induce this pain, leading a few to belive it is in fact a reaction to ultra-violet light.

Every year, 4 weeks after the winter solstice, the city of Touchlem holds a carnival. Beloeam, the city’s founder, set out 300 years ago to forge a new city-state, away from the oppressive regime at the time. No-one knows who suggested the idea of a carnival to celebrate the founding, but the first “official” one was 75 years ago. There had been numerous celebrations before that, but it was a more informal affair.

The Carnival has grown from a small procession to a day long party, ending with a massive firework display at midnight. People are encouraged to try to do new things and to celebrate all the good things that have happened across the year...

Description
The Grevalian Report is both an item (the report itself) and the inquest that lead to its creation. It is a simple document, but it contents are what make it noteworthy. Over a period of several months, information was collected, corroborated and put down in the official record. This report is a record of the abuse and torture carried out in the name of security and protection. The information within is counted as being “Classified”. Many top government officials are waiting to read this report, while others have taken “holidays”.

If this information was to fall into the wrong hands it would cause a great deal of embarrassment and problems for the current government.

Campaign Chunk – Event – The Grand Derby

Details

Started 90 years ago the Grand Derby (so-called not because of its size or prestige but after it’s founder – Josephine Grand) has now lived up to its name and become one of THE social events of the year. Held at the racetrack at Grands estate, the track goes through woodland and hills and across a small stream. The track itself is able to be portioned off making it length variable from 1/2 a mile to almost 2, the maximum only being used for the Grand Derby itself. Various hedges,jumps and other obstacles are placed along its length and the track varies from soft to hard and loose to compact as it winds its way through the estate and passes very close to a local tavern – “The Horse and Jockey”, where many locals gather to drink and make wagers on the various races that take part.
