Dungeon Features

One of the new projects I am working on at the start of the year is the next in the Dungeon Feature series. For those that are unaware of it, it is a series of pdf with the common theme of “things you might find in a dungeon or building or similar environment.” As that is obviously an unwieldy title, it was shortened to Dungeon Feature.

So far there have been the following in the series:

  • Altars
  • Doors
  • Room/Location Names
  • Sights, sounds, smells
  • Chests
  • Fountains

As you can see it leaves a lot more that can be done. On my to-do list is:

  • Armory
  • Artwork
  • Ballroom
  • Barracks
  • Bathing room/Cleaning chamber
  • Chairs
  • Corpses & Bodys
  • Council Chamber/Meeting Room
  • Crypt/Mortuary
  • Kitchen
  • Laboratory
  • Library
  • Paintings
  • Pillar
  • Pits
  • Pool
  • Portal
  • Prisons & Captives
  • Secrets
  • Signs, Runes & Symbols
  • Stairs & Ladders

B-Movie Title Generator + the RPG Round Up

B-Movie Title Generator

A b-movie was the second movie on a double bill. It was typically a low budget formula type film, which fell somewhere in the suspense, horror, sci-fi, western, exploitation or gangster genres, although there were other genres covered as well. Some of these films went on to become cult-classics.

This generator is a series of tables to help you create the titles or names that B-movies became famous for.

The tables you’ll find inside:

D100 Tables

Smaller Tables

And a d100 table of pre-made examples, such as…

Random List – 20 Titles suitable for an anime or manga

Anime is a Japanese term for hand-drawn or computer animation. Mangas are comics created in Japan or by creators in the Japanese language. To many people outside of Japan, the titles or names of them may seem non-sensical or odd. This list below gives 20 that were made/semi-randomly generated to feel like they could be used as proper titles for animes or mangas.

Disagree with this list? Think something else should have gone on it? Post in the comments section or on the social media platform you saw this article.

Sneak Preview – Spell Options 8 – Universal Options

Today, going to give a sneak preview of an upcoming pdf called “Spell Options 8 – Universal Options”

The Spell Options series is a set of pdfs that take existing spells and gives you ways of tweaking them, giving them a unique spin, such as larger effect, change of colouration, and more. Each option has an associated SL, or Spell level, cost. Improve one aspect will mean you treat the spell as one or two or more levels higher. This can be offset by taking penalties, which reduce the SL back to its original level, or even below, but not bellow level 1 or above level 9. There are other rules and guidelines that go along with this system, but that’s the basics of it.

For the most part, each volume is tailored to one spell, such as a curse, or the famous Fireball...

It begins…

Welp, today, after getting what I could be saved from the old HD (which despite best efforts was zero) I have to begin the task of re-installing and formatting and laying out everything I can. This may, at first glance seem simple and easy, but the old machine was a windows 8.1 and the new one is windows 10 – which I have to admit I am starting to like.

In addition to my previous posts about my plans for the future, I now have to deal with this. This is not an “oh woes is me..” type of thing, more of a heads up to let you all know whats going on. Old programs have to be installed, tested for Windows 10, updated and so on. Then, the stage I am at now is restoring, as best I can, the old data, fonts and everything else.

Once all that is done, THEN I can start trying to recreate the latest pd...
