What is Easthalen?

(Lit:”The Eastern part of the Halenic Continent”)
When the god of magic, Halen, threated all existence in the multi-verse, the other gods found themselves unable to destroy this upstart god, for he had bound his fate to that of creation. If he died, so did everything else. But, they was able to imprison him instead, trapping themselves, sparing their creation from a horrible fate.

They used his city as the needed nexus, considering it a fitting place to begin their imprisonment, of not only the dangerous god, but themselves.

This prison trapped all life nearby within, including the innocent lives that live nearby. They wasn’t the only thing that was trapped. So was Magic, constantly being generated by the fallen god. It could not be allowed to leave, and so, built up. This would cause problems for the inhabitants of Easthalen.

Magic begun to infuse into everything. Everyone was able to use it, but not everyone was able to suppress the side effects that every spell causes.

The barrier itself was also causing problems for those nearby to it, as reality was warped and twisted, making magic unstable, leading to the rise on the fringes on soceity of something unseen before.  The users call it technology…
