Whilst I admit this might be a little late for the holiday season, the thought has occured to me that there are many many etsy stores out there that have some good items that would be ideal gifts. For those who don’t know, Etsy , to quote wikipedia “Etsy is an e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items and supplies, as well as unique factory-manufactured items. These items cover a wide range, including art, photography, clothing, jewellery, food, bath and beauty products, quilts, knick-knacks, and toys.”

As there is no new generator this week (see here for details) I’m highlighting an older one. At the moment it’s the largest one on the site – Background and Details, a sample output can be found below.

An altar is any structure upon which offerings such as sacrifices and worship are made for religious purposes. Altars are usually found at shrines, and they can be located in temples, churches and other places of worship.

This week a new generator went live on the site, this one is about Altars. The generator gives you information you would find about the altar, such as  the shape, it’s size, what is the primary material that it is made from, its primary purpose, does it have a protection effect and if so what is the effect, does it have a quirk and lastly what tool or feature does it have.

Today I’m going to be highlighting the latest in the Dungeon Feature series, this one being about altars.

An altar is any structure upon which offerings such as sacrifices and worship are made for religious purposes. Altars are usually found at shrines, and they can be located in temples, churches and other places of worship.

“Dungeon Feature : Altars” is designed to give you ideas for designing the altar. It contains several tables that provide a guide for the description of the altar. You do not have to use all of them, but you can. Thin of it as a way of helping to fill in the blanks you have in your design. For example you have it planned for your players to discover an altar within your dungeon, when one of them asks what it’s made of...

Today, I’m going to highlight another generator – This time it’s the settlement overview.  Originaly this was called the city generator , which is the reason the url for the page has “city” in it. Over the course of making this however,  I soon realised that making this just for cities would be a bad idea compared to making it be about settlement of various size, from mighty metropolises, to humble hamlets.
