Quick Generator – Adventuring Party or Group Name and RPG Round Up

Quick Generator – Adventuring Party or Group Name

The Quick Generator series was designed with one concept in mind – a quick and simple way to come up with something that could be used in your games and stories.

Having no more than two d100 tables, it is easy and as the name suggests, quick, to use.

Each volume is stand alone and doesn’t need other tables, but there is nothing stopping you combining or using the various volume together.

This edition is designed to help you come up with a quick name for an adventuring party, group or gang. This may be the formal name they use or a nickname given to them by the local authorities or local population.

Sample Output –
Promised Crusaders
Blessed Circle
Free Legion

Helpful List- Arbitrary Collection 6 and the RPG Round Up

Helpful List- Arbitrary Collection 6

Every week on the Ennead Games blog, normally on a Friday, a helpful list of 20 items is posted. These normally follow no set pattern or theme, unless there has been a request for a particular list, but a few are based off real-world subjects. Some tables are expanded further into full lists or generators, and others work just fine on their own.

The subjects range from names from faraway lands, to what you might call your coins, to weapon names and more. There may be a common theme for the volume, then again, there might not be. They have been brought together into a handy and eclectic collection, a mixture of Fantasy, Sci-Fi and other genres.

Inside this volume, you’ll find 20 d20 tables, covering…

Anime/Manga Names
Baltic Deity Names
Birds
Clerical Domains
Container
Dark Elf Names
Dinosaurs
Diseases
Fish
Gemstone
Herbs and Spices
Insect
Instrument
Jewellery
Magical Drink Names
Mounts
Potion Detail
Reptile
Spell Components
Tools

Assorted Slang and Terminology – Volume 1 – Thieves Cant and the RPG-blog Round Up

Assorted Slang and Terminology – Volume 1 – Thieves Cant

Thieves Cant, sometimes referred to as the Cant, rogues’ cant or TC for short, was/is a secret language formerly used by thieves, beggars and hustlers in Great Britain and other English-speaking countries.

It is a common trope of the fantasy genre – a series of coded words of phrases so the rogues and thieves can talk about various activities

There are two chapters provided here. One is English -> TC and the other is the reverse, TC -> English.

In the E – > TC translation, if there are multiple versions they are separated by a comma. These can be regional variations and so on.

Some sample translations:

English —> TC
Betrayer – turncoat
Constable – harman, myrmidons
Cutpurse – nipper

TC —> English
Academy – brothel
Beak – judge
Cackle – inform
