Somedays, despite the best of intentions, the brain has a complete no-show for ideas. Today was meant to be a “World Building” day, aka World Building Wednesday, but i really could not think of anything to do.
So, rather then doing nothing, and keeping with the aliteration AND, by some stretch this *could* be argued to be world-building related – I admit it definitely stretches the term to breaking point – An update on some major projects i’m working on or have been over the last [time period].
Lifeform Maker 2
This is a big update, that imo justifies adding the “2” to the end. Whilst a large chunk of the content is the same, there have been tweaks, edits and additions. The PDF goes through it it more detail but as a summary:
- Now close to 100 pages
- Using metric units for size, weight etc
- Dual d20/d100 tables added for some aspects – a d20/d100 table normally has 20 entries with one column, d20, giving each entry an equal chance of occurring and the d100 column ging a curve or bell for the results so some results or more common than others.
- Some terms removed or replaced
- More entries for quirks/weird features
This is ready to go for first release of November, baring an intro text and some minor tweaks etc.
Monster Options 3 – Mimics
My latest DMSGuild product is about Mimics. It will have the usual things that are present in the previous 2 Monster Options, but also has 2 d100 tables for forms the mimic can take.
The last major hurdle for this is the stat blocks for various sizes of Mimic, from the newborn tiny ones all the way up to Gargantuam building sized mimics! Not sure how to handle this, either with a fresh stat block for each or something more simple like a “at Huge size STR goes up to (XX)” etc.
Online Gens
I’m still doing these, but they take time. At the moment focusing on converting the quik gens, as they are the most simple, into HTML gen format then it becomes easier to make the various entries for each on DTRPG and itch etc.
Tiles/Hex tiles
I had to put a pause on the tiles project for the moment, due to some technical limitations and getting frustrated i couldnt get it to do what i wanted. The hex cluster side of this is still in the “trying to find a tile set i can use legally and commercially” Which sounds easy but when you find a tile set you want to use and the author is almost easy to contact, it puts a dampener on things and you have to begin the hunt again. So, like the tiles is not stopped, just on a pause/hiatus.
