One of the new projects I am working on at the start of the year is the next in the Dungeon Feature series. For those that are unaware of it, it is a series of pdf with the common theme of “things you might find in a dungeon or building or similar environment.” As that is obviously an unwieldy title, it was shortened to Dungeon Feature.
So far there have been the following in the series:
- Altars
- Doors
- Room/Location Names
- Sights, sounds, smells
- Chests
- Fountains
As you can see it leaves a lot more that can be done. On my to-do list is:
- Armory
- Artwork
- Ballroom
- Barracks
- Bathing room/Cleaning chamber
- Chairs
- Corpses & Bodys
- Council Chamber/Meeting Room
- Crypt/Mortuary
- Kitchen
- Laboratory
- Library
- Paintings
- Pillar
- Pits
- Pool
- Portal
- Prisons & Captives
- Secrets
- Signs, Runes & Symbols
- Stairs & Ladders
- Statues (What I am currently working on)
- Tables
- Thrones & Throne Rooms
- Torture Chambers
- Traps
- Walls, Floors and Ceilings
There are many other things that can be added and it is a series that has a lot of possible life to it. There are going to be two more planned in the Fantasy version of the feature series, Buildings and Wilderness Features, as well as a Sci-Fi version of them, which will be similar to the fantasy versions, but tweaked and added to make them compatible with modern or sci-fi.
