Ok, so, the last couple , well, 3 weeks has been a dozey I can tell you.
For those not in the know, the SSD (solid state drive) on my non-work/streaming machine died and went to digital valhalla, and the HD (hard drive) was close behind as well. like it had 10% health left close to failing. This resulted in having to get not one, but two new drives – one SSD for the operating system and another HD for the failing one, including a new copy of windows as well.
This, in turn, resulted in a bit of a financial hit to the wallet and I didnt relaise, my mental health as i was full on panicing and not able to focus on stuff, like the blog work, for more than a few mins at a time.
Things are, hopefully sorted now. The drives are installed, the HD has been backed upand things are , well, not back to normall. It gave me a chance to start things over, going through older tasks I had not had a chance to do (like set up new things for streaming) and so on.
Due to way windows stores things, ALL my personal settings , like where i ut windows, the icons disolayed, settings for OBS etc etc, were gone. This is what I have been working on the last week, along with backing up of the harddrives, on BOTH machines. This is one of the reasons I have not been posting as much as i wanted. The downside with being a creative designer like myself, you end up with a LOT of files, some of them very big. Doing backups, making zips/archves etc is very time consuming, for both myself and the PC .
But, with the exception of a few things, I am done with sorting things out and the worst (as far as i can tell) is behind me.
So, to make a long story short, should be back to normal state of doing things this week, restarting with my World Anvil series on Wednesday!
The next couple of days I’m looking into some stuff for Ko-fi, like about their on-line shop and so on. Plus brain-storming my next lot of generator ideas, planning and what-not.
I’m treating this last few weeks as a “soft-reboot” on things. Hopefully, wont have to do this again for a looooong time…fingers crossed not again…ever.. heh
